Golf Course Information
Description
The Pete Dye Canyon Golf Course opened in 2002, the first of up to five planned championship golf courses to be built at Promontory, the private, second-home, luxury family community in the heart of Utah's Rocky Mountains. This course is dramatically sculpted into the natural hillside terrain and offers contrasting scenic experiences with the front nine laid out across a sunlit meadow and the back nine nestled within a serene valley.
Designer: Pete Dye is one of the most influential and creative golf course designers in the history of the sport. Dye was named the 1994 Golf Course Architect of the Year by Golf World Magazine. He has perfected the art of multiple tee placements, making each hole he designs challenging for the finest players in the world and yet thoroughly playable and enjoyable for the less-experienced golfer.
Each hole features six tee boxes, giving players of all skill levels and abilities the opportunity to play the same course with the same par.
The Pete Dye Canyon Golf Clubhouse is just one of Promontory's world-class amenities. The 27,000-square foot post-and-beam construction clubhouse sits above the 18th hole fairway and offers one of the area's top dining retreats, a Pro Shop and spacious and well-appointed men's and women's club lounges.
